How to Custom 65% Keyboard 68 keys

Step 1: Choose Your Keyboard Layout

The first decision is your keyboard size. Gimsun Custom offers:

All layouts are available in ANSI standard. You can also choose between a standard keycap profile or our exclusive MOA Profile — a spherical keycap shape that's ergonomic and visually distinctive.

Not sure which size? The 75% (82-key) is our most popular choice for desk setups — compact enough to save space, complete enough for daily use.

Step 2: Pick Your Keycap Customization Type

You have two main options:

Option A — Full Custom Keyboard
Includes the mechanical keyboard body + custom PBT keycap set + Cherry MX switches. Everything ships together, fully assembled.

Option B — Custom Keycaps Only
Just the keycap set, if you already own a compatible keyboard. Available in 65%, 80%, 96%, and 100% ANSI layouts.

Both options use 5-sided dye sublimation printing — meaning your design wraps around the top, front, and sides of each keycap for a premium, durable finish that won't fade or shine over time.

Step 3: Upload Your Design & Place Your Order

Head to the product page for your chosen layout and:

  1. Add the product to your cart
  2. Attach your completed design file at checkout (or email it to us after ordering)
  3. Complete your purchase

Our team will review your file within 1–2 business days and send you a digital sample proof for approval before any production begins.

Step 4: Approve Your Sample

You'll receive a rendered preview of your custom keyboard showing exactly how your design will look on the keycaps.

  • ✅ Happy with it? Approve and we move to production.
  • ✏️ Need changes? Request revisions and we'll update the proof.

No production starts without your sign-off — so you're always in control.

Step 5: Production & Shipping

Once approved, your keyboard enters production. Here's what to expect:

  • Printing method: Dye sublimation (5-sided) on PBT keycaps
  • Switch type: Cherry MX (Tactile Bump) — pre-installed on full keyboard orders
  • Production time: Varies by order volume; bulk orders (e.g., 10-unit sets) are also available
